CALCULATOR

This tool provides a scientific calculator. The Calculator allows the user to transfer numerical information from the Calculator into input boxes and vice versa. The Calculator also provides a fraction mode, in which operations are performed on proper or improper fractions and mixed numbers.
CURVULATOR

The curve fitting tool permits the student to enter data, to save data for future use and to edit data. The student can select from a variety of functions and the tool will find a least squares regression fit of the selected function to the data. Results are automatically presented in graphical form and the equations associated with the graphs can also be displayed.
FORMULATOR

This tool is designed to perform operations on expressions or equations. It will expand or factor an expression, add several equations, or allow an equation or expression to be added to, subtracted from, divided into, or be multiplied by a quantity. The Line Math feature performs operations on multiple equations, such as multiplying an equation by a constant and adding the result to a second equation.
The capabilities of the Formulator vary depending on context. For example, if a topic is teaching a student how to add two equations, the Line Math function would be disabled in that topic. In its most basic form, the Formulator is merely a scratchpad that understands mathematical notation.
GRAPHALATOR

The graphing calculator automatically displays the graph of an equation entered either by characteristics or in equation form. It allows transformations of graphs about a line or the axes and will display the equation of the new graph. The Trace feature displays the coordinates of the point on which the crosshairs are positioned. The Zoom feature allows one to designate specific sections of the Cartesian coordinate system for viewing. The Scale feature allows changing the maximum and minimum x and y values. The Graphalator is specifically designed for student-discovery activities, is easily accessed by the student and is user-friendly. For example, the student does not have to solve an equation for a specific variable before entering it for graphing.
GLOSSARY

The Glossary is a list of mathematical terms with examples. Individual entries can be reached through the Index or by means of the Search function, which provides the ability to find terms beginning with or containing a word or part of a word, definitions containing a word, part of a word, or sequence of words, or definitions introduced in a particular topic or chapter.
